Beloved Woman

GEI-GA-U

A Beloved Woman of the ancient Cherokee enjoyed a life of respect and honor.  This bestowed title was always associated with a natural gift.

The gift might be a dream or vision and spiritual insight, or a gift for working with children, being a great hunter, warrior or someone astute in civil affairs.

The gift could have many possibilities, but the main consideration was a profound wisdom and depth that made the gift a real part of her life, thus committing her to a lifetime of service to her people.

In this matriarchal society, her opinion was always heard and held in high regard.

This sculpture is made out of Bronze and African Granite and the size of this sculpture is 10" x 7" x 3.5".
